Synergy

The concept of synergy describe the connection between different things. In the context of our video, it has a synergy with our digipak and the ideas behind our video. The name of our album ‘voodoo people’ is in itself something holds a lot of synergy with particular things. It is originally the name of a song by The Prodigy which we chose for our video, we then adapted all of our elements to fit this voodoo connection we have created. The word ‘voodoo’ relates to the combination of elements from Roman Catholic ritual with traditional African magical and religious rites, and characterized by sorcery and spirit possession. This has synergy with our video as we have incorporated aspects of dark magical through the hallucinations he has.

As shown in these two photos the link between spiritual voodoo sorcerers and the masked demons in our video is fairly strong, we wanted this connection to be clear, we researched voodoo and found the masks that felt matched as best we could. Once we had established the link to voodoo,  it was clear of the direction our digipak was going to go. We needed to bring across on our advert to the potential viewers or buyers of our album that this is based on voodoo and these ‘voodoo people’ that create a psychedelic experience for TeddyC.

These ‘VOODOO PEOPLE’ is prominent in the advert, it draws attention very well. Due to the black affect we have put on the advert is makes the masks stand out.
